Board of Trustees

Marchant Memorial Library has 5 trustees serving 3 year terms. Recommendations of new trustees are submitted to the Mayor who has the responsibility of appointing the Board members. Qualifications include: a citizen of the Scranton community and a willingness to be involved in the library. Must be willing to attend a meeting every month, set the budget for the library, approve bills for the running of the library, hire and evaluate the Library Director and oversee all aspects of the library. Any member missing 6 consecutive meetings will be replaced.

Marchant Memorial Library holds at least 10 meetings a year, currently the meetings are held on the second Monday of the month, meetings starting at 6 pm. Every July the Board selects a President, Vice-president and Secretary.
